Literature Circles the WORD Wizard Job Description

Your job is to be on the look out for new words. If you find words that are unfamiliar or puzzling, mark them with a posit-it note while you are reading and then later go back and find the definitions for them. You may also come across familiar words that stand out in the text -- words that are repeated a lot, are used in an unusual way, or provide a key to the meaning of the text. Make note of these special words and be prepared to discuss them with the group.
